25.11.14 : Quema del Vignola - Mariano Puga

Diego Grass of Plan Común has invited his relative, Mariano Puga -priest and architect graduated from the UC School of Architecture in Chile- for a conversation around the events that led to the so-called "Quema del Vignola" in 1949, and its consequences in the School of Architecture of the Catholic University.

The burning of Vignola (1949) marked the most controversial moment of the first student strike in the history of all Catholic universities in the world. Students and teachers were able to establish once and for all Modernity as a cornerstone of the teaching institution. Mariano Puga tells the before and after this milestone in the history of architecture in our country.

07.11.14 : Workshop with Pier Vittorio Aureli

From October 27th to November 7th,  the workshop "Vivienda colectiva : Proyecto en disputa" took place at UC School of Architecture.

Pier Vittorio Aureli (Dogma) was the international guest for the events and the workshop led by Umberto Bonomo and Felipe De Ferrari. The workshop critically analyses two emblematic cases of collective housing built in Santiago in the '60s. Through the specific approach of the architectural project it aims to verify the validity of these sets in the current sociocultural and economic context, to establish strategies to reclaim their urban dimension, their domestic scales and radical collective vocation.

Two public seminars and a conference were also part of the program. As a conclusion of these events, a publication edited by Ediciones ARQ, propose to show Pier Vittorio Aureli and his office Dogma's recent works and research, including interviews made by Felipe de Ferrari and Diego Grass for OnArchitecture.
